Housekeeper Resume Sample Philippines: Two Templates That Work
Two full housekeeper resume samples for Philippine households, plus a skills table with proof for each line, honest gap wording, and the documents to bring.
Helpers Philippines
TL;DR: A housekeeper resume that works in the Philippines is one page, uses the same words the job post used, and gives two references a family can actually ring. Most applicants lose the interview by writing a paragraph about being hardworking and God-fearing instead of naming the house they ran and the machines they used. Below are two full samples you can copy, a skills table with proof for each line, and the rule that nobody may charge you a placement fee.
Your resume has one job. It has to make a stranger comfortable enough to invite you into their home.
That is a different task from applying to a company. There is no HR department reading you against a scorecard. The reader is usually a parent, the eldest daughter, or a household manager, scrolling on a phone between other things. They are not looking for polish. They are looking for a reason to believe you will not break the washing machine, will not disappear after payday, and will not repeat what happens inside the house.
What a Philippine family reads first
Three things, in this order. Where you live and whether you can get there. What kind of home you last worked in. Whether anyone can vouch for you.
Everything else is secondary. A beautiful design template does nothing if the family cannot tell from line four whether you have ever handled a barong or an inverter aircon.
The fastest improvement most people can make is to stop writing a generic profile and start mirroring the job post. If the family wrote housemaid, use housemaid in your objective. If they wrote general cleaning, deep cleaning, and marketing, use those three words. The employer's version of this role is spelled out in the housekeeper job description guide, and reading it before you apply is the cheapest edge you can get. Their checklist is your keyword list.
Market signals help you aim, not price yourself. JobStreet's housekeeper salary page shows employer-disclosed monthly figures clustering near ₱18,500 across most locations, with ₱19,000 in Makati City and ₱22,500 in Pampanga. Indeed's Philippine housekeeper page reports an average of ₱15,043 per month from about 1,900 self-reported salaries, updated 17 August 2026. Both are estimates built from job ads and self-reports, not a promised rate. Work out your own number in the rate-setting guide and keep it off the resume.
Sample 1: experienced private household housekeeper
Six years, two families, live-out. This is the shape most families in Metro Manila are hiring for. Copy the structure, replace every detail with your own.

Both references have agreed to be contacted between 6pm and 9pm on weekdays.
Notice what is not there. No photo. No civil status. No religion. No expected salary. No paragraph about being trustworthy, because the two reference numbers do that job better than an adjective ever will.
Sample 2: hotel housekeeping moving into a private home
This is the harder resume to write, and the one most people get wrong. Hotel experience is genuinely valuable to a family, but only if you translate it. A family does not care about turndown service. They care that you can strip and remake a bed properly, sort a delicate wash, and work through a room in a set order without being followed around.
The TESDA Housekeeping NC II training regulation lists your core competencies as providing housekeeping services to guests, cleaning and preparing rooms for incoming guests, valet and butler service, laundry of linen and guest clothes, and cleaning public areas, facilities, and equipment. Those are the official titles. On a household resume, write what they mean in a home.

One honest note on the certificate. TESDA certification is not a legal requirement for household work. The DOLE question-and-answer booklet on Batas Kasambahay states plainly that a kasambahay is encouraged, not required, to undergo competency assessment and be certified by TESDA, and that training is not a requirement for assessment. It sets you apart from other applicants, but no family may treat it as a condition. If you want the full picture on which qualification to take and how assessment works, read the Housekeeping NC II and Domestic Work NC II guide.
Objective or profile summary, both under 60 words
You already have one of each above. The PROFILE block in sample 1 is 50 words. The OBJECTIVE block in sample 2 is 52 words. Copy whichever fits you.
Use an objective if you are changing roles or starting out. Use a profile summary if you already have the experience. Never both, and never more than 60 words, which is about four lines on a phone screen. A housekeeper resume objective that opens with seeking a challenging position in a reputable company wastes all four lines, because a family is not a company and nobody wants to hear that their home will be a challenge.
Write it last, after the rest of the resume exists. It is a summary, not an introduction.
Housekeeper skills for a resume, and how to prove each one
Two groups. Hard housekeeping skills are things you did. Reliability signals are things a family is quietly worried about. Both belong on the page, and both need proof.
| Skill to list | Write it like this | How you prove it | | --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | Deep cleaning by surface | Name the surfaces: tile, hardwood, granite, stainless steel, glass | Say which cleaner you use on each and which one you refuse to use on wood | | Laundry and ironing | Separate machine wash, hand wash, and delicates; name barong, silk, uniforms | Describe your sorting order and what you do with a stain before it dries | | Basic cooking | Say what you cook, for how many, and whether you handle baon | Offer a sample week of meals, or cook one dish on a paid trial day | | Inventory and grocery lists | Marketing on a set budget, with receipts and a running supply list | Show a photo of a real list or receipt sheet you kept, names removed | | Appliance care | Front-load and top-load machines, aircon filters, refrigerator, oven | Explain a filter clean, step by step, in the interview | | Pet care | Number and type of pets, feeding, walking, vet reminders | Name the breed and the routine you followed | | Punctuality | Give your commute and your realistic arrival time | State your barangay and route; a specific answer beats a promise | | Discretion | One line: I do not discuss the household outside the household | Do not name your old employers' business in the interview. They notice | | References | Two named people with numbers and the best time to call | The numbers work and the people answer. Ring them yourself first |
Notice the pattern. Every claim on the left becomes a question in the interview. If you cannot answer the middle column out loud, take the line off your resume.
Gaps and informal work, told straight
Blank years are worse than bad years. A family filling a gap in their head will fill it with something worse than the truth.
Write the real dates and one plain line. Caring for my mother in Davao after her stroke, March 2024 to January 2025. Laundry and cleaning per day for three neighbours in Barangay Holy Spirit, 2021 to 2022. Both are real work and both are checkable. The second one is not a lesser job, it is just an unregistered one, and it counts as experience the moment you can name the household and give a contact number.
Do not stretch dates to close a gap, because references and clearances expose it. Do not write self-employed to hide a period you would rather not explain, because it invites the exact question you were avoiding. If you were let go, one neutral clause is enough. Contract ended when the family moved abroad. You do not owe a paragraph.
References a family can actually verify
Two is enough. Three is fine. Zero is a problem, and a reference that does not answer the phone is worse than none, because it looks like you invented it.
Each reference needs the person's name, their relationship to you, their mobile number, and the best time to call. Ask permission first, and tell them who might ring and for which role. A former employer surprised by the call gives a flat, careful answer, and flat sounds like doubt.
Never had a formal employer? Use a barangay official, a parish worker, a teacher, or the family whose laundry you did for two years. Helpers.ph runs its own identity and reference checks on top of whatever you list, described in how we vet helpers.
One page, formatted for a phone
Print it, look at it from arm's length, and check every box before you send it.
- [ ] One page. Two only if you have more than eight years across four or more households.
- [ ] Full name, mobile number, and barangay and city at the top.
- [ ] No full home address. Barangay and city tell the family your commute. The street number tells a stranger where you sleep.
- [ ] No photo unless the job post specifically asks for one.
- [ ] No religion, civil status, age, height, weight, or number of children.
- [ ] No ID numbers on the resume. Not SSS, not PhilHealth, not Pag-IBIG, not your passport.
- [ ] Dates on every role, month and year, no gaps left blank.
- [ ] Duties written as things you did, not as a job description you copied.
- [ ] File saved as PDF, named yourfullname-housekeeper.pdf, not resume-final-2.docx.
- [ ] Someone else has read it once for spelling. One typo is human. Six looks careless.
Some Philippine job posts still ask for a photo. If they do, send a plain headshot with a neutral background. Do not volunteer one, and never send a full-body shot.
Documents to bring to the interview
Bring photocopies. Keep every original in your own bag and take it home with you.
Section 12 of Republic Act 10361 lists what an employer may ask for before the contract is signed:
- Medical certificate or health certificate from a local government health officer.
- Barangay and police clearance.
- NBI clearance.
- Duly authenticated birth certificate, or a voter's ID, baptismal record, or passport showing your age.
Two details in that law protect you, and most applicants do not know either one. These requirements become mandatory only when the hiring goes through a private employment agency. And the DOLE booklet answers the cost question directly: the prospective employer or the recruitment agency pays for the pre-employment documents. If a family or an agency tells you to shoulder those fees, they are shifting a cost the law puts on them.
Also bring your TESDA National Certificate if you have one, a written list of your references, and a pen. Nothing else.
Placement fees, documents, and staying safe
Read this part twice, because it is where people lose money.
Section 13 of Republic Act 10361 is short and absolute. Regardless of whether the domestic worker was hired through a private employment agency or a third party, no share in the recruitment or finder's fee may be charged against the domestic worker. The DOLE booklet repeats it in one line: the kasambahay shall not be charged any cost of the recruitment, placement, or finder's fee. There is no processing fee, no reservation fee, no training bond, and no salary deduction to repay a fee. Any of those is illegal for a local household job.
The same law declares several acts unlawful outright: requiring you to make deposits for loss or damage, debt bondage, employing a child below 15 as a kasambahay, interfering with how you spend your wages, and withholding your wages. DOLE regional offices impose administrative fines from ₱10,000 to ₱40,000 for these, and you can also bring a civil or criminal case.
Four rules that keep the rest of it simple:
- Never hand over an original document. Nobody needs to hold your birth certificate, passport, or NBI clearance to hire you. Confiscating your papers is a control tactic, not a requirement.
- Meet the first time in a public place, or bring a companion. A mall, a barangay hall, or a coffee shop. A first meeting inside a house you have never visited, arranged entirely over chat, is the highest-risk version of this.
- Verify who you are talking to, and tell someone where you are going. Ask for the family's full name, the exact address, and a landline or building name, then send that address to a friend before you leave. A real employer will not mind. A recruiter who refuses to name the employer until you pay is not a recruiter.
- Nothing gets signed on the spot. Take the contract home and check that it names your duties, pay, rest day, and the arrangement for board and lodging. NWPC publishes the official Batas Kasambahay documents and sample contract for free, so compare what you were handed against that. Overseas placement runs under a different licensing system, so treat any local job post that suddenly becomes an abroad opportunity as a red flag.
If the job is on a platform, keep the conversation on the platform until you have met. It leaves a record.
Frequently Asked Questions
What should I put on a housekeeper resume in the Philippines?
Put your full name, mobile number, and barangay and city, then a profile summary under 60 words, then your work history with the type of home and the duties you actually did. Add a skills section split into cleaning, laundry, cooking, and household admin, then two references with names, relationship, and mobile numbers. One page is enough.
What is a good housekeeper resume objective?
Name the role you want, the area you can work in, and the two or three duties you are strongest at. Keep it under 60 words and rewrite it for each job post. Skip lines like seeking a challenging position in a reputable company, because a private family is not a company and that sentence tells them nothing about you.
Do I need TESDA Housekeeping NC II to work as a housekeeper?
No. The DOLE question-and-answer booklet on Batas Kasambahay says training and certification by TESDA are not required before employment, only encouraged. A National Certificate still helps you stand out and supports a higher rate, especially for condo, hotel, and serviced-apartment work. Put the certificate number and the year on the resume if you have one.
How do I explain a gap or informal work on a housekeeper resume?
Write the real dates and one honest line about what you were doing, such as caring for a sick parent in Davao or cleaning and doing laundry for neighbours on a per-day basis. Do not leave blank years, because a family will assume the worst. Informal work counts as experience if you can name the household and give a contact.
Can an agency charge me a placement fee for a household job in the Philippines?
No. Section 13 of Republic Act 10361 says no share in the recruitment or finder's fee may be charged against the domestic worker, whether you were hired directly or through an agency. The prospective employer or the agency also pays for the medical certificate, barangay and police clearance, and NBI clearance. Anyone asking you for those fees is breaking the law.
Now make your profile say the same thing
A resume gets you one interview at a time. A profile works while you sleep.
Take the profile summary, the skills list, and the two references you just wrote and put the same words into your Helpers profile. Families search by area, schedule, and skill, so the specific lines you wrote for the resume are exactly what makes you findable. Start at get hired, then browse the open housekeeping and household jobs and apply to the three that match your commute.
If you have not made a profile yet, create your helper account and paste your resume into it. Same content, more reach, and every reference we verify stays verified for the next family who reads you.
