Data Deletion Request for helpers.ph
At Helpers, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your data. If you would like to delete your data from our app, please follow the steps below:
- Use our contact form: Contact our team from the email address associated with your account. Include “Data Deletion Request” in your message, along with your account details and a brief request for deletion.
- Processing Time: Once we receive your request, we will verify your identity and process your deletion within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email once it is complete.
What happens to your data
The fastest way is to delete your account yourself from Settings → Deactivate or Delete Account in the app or on the website; that takes effect immediately. Requests sent through the contact form are processed within 30 days. In both cases:
- Your profile, photos, videos, work samples, saved items and sign-in are removed from active use, and your connected sign-in providers are revoked
- Your verification documents — government ID, selfie, NBI clearance and certificates for helpers; household verification documents for families — and your home address and contact details are removed from active use
- You no longer appear in search, listings or public pages, and any open job posts are closed
We keep an offline copy for 90 days. The copy is not visible in the app during that time. You may ask us to erase it sooner through our data request form.
Some records are anonymised rather than removed. Messages you sent stay in the other person’s conversation, and reviews you wrote stay on the profile you reviewed — shown as “Deleted user” and no longer linked to your identity. Reports and safety records are kept in anonymised form so that deleting an account cannot erase a safety history.
Some records we are legally required to keep. Financial and tax records — payments, payouts, invoices, and, where your employer uses our household tools, payroll records and payslips — are retained as required by Philippine tax regulations. Your payout destination is kept for the same reason, so past payouts still reconcile, but the account number is masked to its last four digits, the account name is removed, and the destination is disabled. These records are kept for compliance only and are not used to contact you. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
