Hire a verified stay-out yaya near Subic Bay and Olongapo
How to hire a yaya in Olongapo and the Subic Bay Freeport above the ₱6,500 Region III kasambahay floor, with stay-out commute, SBMA gates, and a split from Clark/Pampanga.
Helpers Philippines
TL;DR: Olongapo and a house inside the Subic Bay Freeport use the Region III kasambahay floor of ₱6,500 a month from 30 October 2025. Stay-out is the honest default when she already lives in the city and can finish on time. Live-in is for nights, a newborn, or a parent still inside the zone at 8pm. Write the barangay, the gate, and the rest day. Then browse Olongapo nannies.
Olongapo is a compact city beside a Freeport. That is a different hiring problem from Clark in Pampanga, even though both sit in Central Luzon and share the same wage order.
This page is for families hiring a regular yaya in Olongapo City, Barretto, houses inside the Subic Bay Freeport Zone, and nearby Zambales towns. The statute is RA 10361. The floor is in the NWPC summary as of 9 July 2026. The first-week path is hiring your first yaya. If the house is in Angeles or San Fernando, use the Pampanga and Clark guide instead.
Region III pay, including the Freeport
Wage Order RBIII-DW-05 sets Central Luzon at ₱6,500 a month from 30 October 2025. Olongapo, Castillejos, Subic municipality, and a private house inside SBFZ sit in that row. There is no published Subic-only kasambahay wage on the NWPC sheet.
Stay-out does not cut the ₱6,500. Food and a safe room are extra when she lives in. Copying an NCR ₱7,800 post is legal here. Copying a ₱5,000 "all-in" is not. The full regional table is the lookup when a relative in Manila quotes last year's number.
Market offers for English-speaking childcare, nights, or two children will sit above the floor. Treat helpers.ph calculator bands as estimates, not a second statute. Price the real duties in the salary calculator.
RA 7227 converted the former Subic (and Clark) reservations into civilian Freeport and eco-zone use. The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority administers SBFZ. That is zoning, gates, and locators. It is not a kasambahay exemption. A yaya in a house inside the zone is still a domestic worker under RA 10361 if the work is regular household work in that home.
Stay-out around the Freeport
Language is a work tool. If the children speak English with the parents and Tagalog with everyone else, write both. If lola in the house speaks Zambal or Ilocano, write that too. Do not use "native English, no accent" as a coded filter for something you have not named.
Stay-out works here more often than families from Manila expect, because Olongapo is small and many yayas already live in Gordon Heights, New Cabalan, Old Cabalan, Kalaklan, Mabayuan, Asinan, or Barretto.
Write stay-out when:
- start and finish times survive the jeepney, tricycle, or a parent pickup at the gate
- another adult is in the house overnight
- you will actually let her leave, including on the rest day
Write live-in when:
- a newborn or night waking is the job
- both parents work inside the zone past the last reliable ride home
- you need coverage on a Sunday you have not paid as a rest-day swap
A stay-out yaya who "can just extend" without a rate is how rest days die. Put overtime in the contract. The nanny job description is the template: childcare first, extra duties named.
Barretto and beach-side rentals add weekend guests. Guest children are extra heads. Guest laundry is extra work. Say so, or hire a cleaner on those days.
Subic is not Clark
Clark and Subic share a conversion statute and a Region III wage. They do not share a labour market.
| Subic / Olongapo | Clark / Angeles | |
|---|---|---|
| City she will travel to | Olongapo | Angeles or San Fernando |
| Common arrangement | Stay-out from city barangays into SBFZ | Live-in or fixed-term along the Clark corridor |
| Language to write | Tagalog, plus English if the children actually use it | English-heavy school calendar is more common |
| Rest-day towns | Castillejos, San Antonio, Iba, Bataan | Magalang, Mexico, other Pampanga towns |
| Guide | This page | Pampanga and Angeles |
Do not copy a Clark ad for an Olongapo house. A yaya who thrived in a gated Clark village may not want a Barretto weekend house, and a Gordon Heights stay-out yaya may not want a six-month Clark posting with no jeepney home.
"Subic" on a Facebook post is also sloppy. It can mean:
- a house inside SBFZ (gate sticker, visitor pass, SBMA rules)
- Barretto or Kalaklan in Olongapo City
- the municipality of Subic, Zambales, which is a different LGU
Write the barangay. Browse nannies in Olongapo and the Olongapo hub. Do not post "Zambales" with no sitio.
Screening that still applies inside SBFZ
The checks do not change at the Freeport fence.
- One-page brief: ages, hours, language, stay-out finish or live-in room, rest day, wage, gate access.
- How we vet helpers: ID, NBI, and references are separate badges.
- Ask for a recent Philippine household, not only overseas work. An OFW returnee can be an excellent yaya and still need a week to learn this baby and this gate.
- Paid trial on a school day, including the actual commute through the gate, not only a quiet Sunday in the city.
- Contract before day one. Legal hire checklist. NBI process if you require it; you pay; originals go back.
- SSS household employer enrolment after a month, not "when we get to it."
Driving is a fork. If she will use the family car on the Tipo or Kalaklan run, write licence, insurance, and hours. Family drivers are outside the kasambahay wage order. Do not hide a driver job inside a yaya wage.
Do not hold her PhilID, passport, or ATM card because "she might leave before the posting ends." Section 12 of RA 10361 puts document costs on you and requires originals back.
Two sample listings (steal the honest one)
SBFZ / Olongapo, stay-out, school hours
Yaya for one child, age 5, house inside Subic Bay Freeport, parents work in the zone. Stay-out, Monday to Friday 6:30am to 6:00pm, rest day Sunday. Tagalog and English at home. Pickup at [school]. Wage ₱[amount] at or above ₱6,500, payslip, SSS from month one. Room not included. Trial day paid, including the gate wait. Parent or named adult in the house after 6pm.
Olongapo city proper, live-in, childcare first
Yaya for a toddler, live-in, [barangay], Olongapo City. Childcare first; light cooking for the child; no whole-house bathrooms unless we add pay. Rest day every [day], with transport toward Castillejos or San Antonio. Tagalog in the house. Wage ₱[amount], meals, a room with a door, SSS / PhilHealth / Pag-IBIG. Contract before day one.
The first listing fails if you then add laundry for six adults and a Saturday locators' party. The second fails if the room is a sofa in the sala.
Commute, gates, and rest day
| From | To | What to write |
|---|---|---|
| Gordon Heights / Cabalan | House inside SBFZ | Start time that includes the gate, or a parent pickup |
| Barretto | City proper school run | Whether she can be on foot, jeepney, or needs a ride |
| Olongapo | Subic municipality | Do not assume one "Subic" wage covers a different LGU commute |
| Castillejos / San Antonio | Either | Rest-day transport home is part of the offer |
Freeport housing often has a stickered gate, a visitor pass, and a no-guest rule that nobody told the yaya. Write who can enter, where she eats, and whether her rest-day visitor is allowed. A live-in room with a lock is still the statutory default under RA 10361.
Week one still wants a parent in the house. The first-week playbook does not change because the bay is nearby. Show the gate, the school bag, the rest day, and the PhilHealth employer path you will actually complete.
If you need coverage in both an SBFZ weekday house and a Barretto weekend house, that is two workplaces. Pay for the travel or hire two people.
Interview questions that match a Subic household
Warmth is cheap in an interview. The gate wait is not. Sit with the actual timetable.
- "Walk me through a Wednesday if you live in Gordon Heights and the house is inside the zone with a 6:30am start."
- "What language will you speak with the children when I am not in the room?"
- "Have you entered SBFZ for work before? Who held the pass, and how long was the door-to-door?"
- "Rest day last job: did you actually get to Castillejos or San Antonio, or did the family keep you for guests?"
- "What would make you leave a stay-out job in the first two months?"
Listen for specifics: tricycle plus walk, a cousin's room in New Cabalan, a previous rest day that never happened. A candidate who cannot describe a real commute will not magically gain an hour after you hire her.
If the children are still in nappies, add the newborn questions from the infant yaya checklist. If the job is actually the whole house, stop calling it a yaya interview.
Red flags in Subic and Olongapo hiring chats
Pause when:
- someone asks the yaya to pay a "processing fee" or a share of a finder's fee (Section 13 of RA 10361 bans that)
- the listing says "all-around / yaya / cook / driver, salary negotiable"
- originals of the passport or NBI stay with the family "for the gate"
- rest day is "after the long weekend" with no date
- the only address is "somewhere in Subic"
One red flag is a reason to slow down. A stack of them is a reason to walk away and keep browsing.
Olongapo condominiums and Freeport houses both promise a "helper's room" that is sometimes a windowless storage bay. Section 6 of RA 10361 requires humane sleeping arrangements that ensure safety. Show the room on the video call. If she would be sleeping in the living room after 10pm, that is not a room.
Stay-out roles need a finish time you will honour. A 7pm dinner inside the zone plus a commute to Castillejos is not a nine-to-five. Pay for the day you actually run, or offer live-in with a real rest day and a way home.
Barangay registration is still yours. Section 17 puts the kasambahay on the Registry of Domestic Workers in the barangay where you live, whether that barangay is inside Olongapo City or you also need to follow locator housing rules for guests. SSS enrolment uses the household employer process, not a Facebook instruction from a recruiter. Doing SSS does not do PhilHealth.
Keep payslips. Households that pay in cash every Saturday still owe a written record. When a disagreement hits the DOLE regional office that covers Central Luzon, memory is a weak file.
Pay, 13th month, and documents
A stay-out posting still owes the monthly wage at or above ₱6,500, a weekly rest day, and contributions once she has a month of service. RA 10361 Section 25 gives kasambahay 13th month pay as provided by law. A short locator posting does not delete it. Compute the fraction from the months actually worked, and put the method in the contract.
SSS enrolment does not wait for the posting to "settle." Use the SSS household employer path in month one, even on a six-month term. A short contract is still an employment contract. NWPC's RA 10361 resource page is the government packet to keep beside the contract.
Use the salary calculator for a band above the floor when you want English, two children, or nights. The calculator is an estimate. The wage order is the law.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the kasambahay minimum wage in Olongapo and Subic in 2026?
Central Luzon (Region III) is ₱6,500 a month under Wage Order RBIII-DW-05, effective 30 October 2025, per the NWPC summary dated 9 July 2026. That covers Olongapo City, the rest of Zambales, and a household inside the Subic Bay Freeport. Subic is not a separate kasambahay wage region. Stay-out does not lower the floor.
Should a Subic or Olongapo yaya be stay-out?
Write stay-out when the yaya already lives in Olongapo (Gordon Heights, New Cabalan, Barretto, Kalaklan) and can finish at a real hour. Write live-in when nights, a newborn, or a parent who works past the last jeepney are the actual job. Do not use stay-out as a way to skip meals, a room, or the ₱6,500 floor.
How is hiring a yaya in Subic different from Clark or Pampanga?
The wage order is the same Region III ₱6,500 floor. The household is not. Clark and Angeles listings more often want English, a school calendar, and a fixed term tied to a posting. Subic and Olongapo listings more often want stay-out childcare with a Freeport gate pass and a rest day toward Zambales towns. Use the Pampanga guide for Clark. Use this page for Olongapo.
Where do I browse yayas for Olongapo or Subic?
Browse nanny profiles for Olongapo, the city she will actually travel to. "Subic" on a post can mean the Freeport, Barretto, or the municipality of Subic, Zambales. Helpers lets families shortlist for free, read ID and NBI status, and hire direct with no salary commission.
Does a house inside the Subic Bay Freeport skip the Kasambahay Law?
No. RA 10361 still covers a yaya who regularly does domestic work in one household, including a house inside SBFZ. You still need a written contract before day one, a weekly rest day, payslips, and SSS, PhilHealth, and Pag-IBIG after one month. SBMA administers the Freeport. It does not replace DOLE on kasambahay pay.
Hire in the city she will actually work
Write Olongapo or the Freeport barangay, the ₱6,500 floor as the starting line, and stay-out hours you will honour. Then browse Olongapo nannies or helpers in Olongapo, read ID and NBI badges, and create a family account to hire direct.
